Celebrating Fine Wine,

Artisan Chocolate, and Community

Guests at wine and chocolate pairing night at Locale, Jamaica

How did you celebrate your Thursday?

At Locale, guests were treated to an evening of gastronomic delight, sampling cellar-worthy wine provided by #CPJ, paired with locally made treats from Likkle More Artisan Chocolate.

Cecile Levee was as much a phenomenal host, as she was a knowledgeable connoisseur. With well over forty (40) years of experience studying and working with wine, Levee effortlessly steered guests through the evening’s tastings. Jamaica might not be a wine-producing country, but guests were able to appreciate the fine selections all the more, thanks to Levee’s expert guidance on the craftsmanship, profile and significance of each bottle. A rich history in every sip, highlighting the truly nuanced flavours of Jamaica presented in Likkle More’s sweat treats — worlds do collide.

And so did our guests as they mingled over nibbles and clinks. Levee might have nocked the tone for the evening, but everyone was in the mood to schmooze, carrying the evening along on cheery chatter, laughter and, in modern parlance, good vibes.

Nadine Burie of Likkle More was also present to sharpen our sweet tooth with some insights on her colourful cocoa creations that speak to her love for the isle. Some 50% of the cocoa used in her artisan chocolates is locally sourced and 100% focused on sustainability.

Grab a few bars of Likkle More Artisan Chocolate from our store to try your own pairings. Burie, crowned Jamaica’s best dessert chef four (4) years in a row, channels her passion for all-natural ingredients, sustainable plant-based packaging and her adopted home of Jamaica into each bar.

The event, dubbed Vine & Bean, is part of a monthly series of events curated by MoDa Market and hosted at Locale. Wine enthusiasts can also follow Levee to keep up with her wine bars and her wine classes, highlighting the joys of wine.

Craving tasty tapas? Join us for Stush in the City next month as we continue our celebration of good times with good company.

In the meantime, you can pick up a bottle of Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon or `Three Finger Jack Zinfandel, Levee’s top picks for the evening, the next time you visit the Hummingbird at Locale.
