Last Friday night, #ThePinkBuilding turned into a fashionable playground for cocktail lovers! Locale teamed up with CPJ and the mixology maestros at Open Bar Hospitality to present the ultimate "Mix Up + Blend" event. It was a night of sophisticated splendor!
The star of the evening was the award-winning mixologist, George Duval, of Open Bar Hospitality, who brought his New York City magic to the heart of Kingston, alongside his charming Jamaican wife, Lisa Lindo.
From the moment guests stepped into #ThePinkBuilding, the atmosphere was electric. DJ Renée "Iren Siren" kept the energy high with a seamless mix of lounge music. The already smart interior was transformed into a contemporary cool lounge with a cheeky mix of shimmering disco balls casting playful reflections, plush sofas and straw ottomans.

His cocktail menu was a love letter to Jamaica, a masterful exploration of Jamaican flavors, elevated with classic cocktail techniques. He shared, "I wanted to highlight the culture, food, and cuisine. Using local ingredients was key." His creations were a perfect blend of classic cocktail artistry and Jamaican freshness.

Two crowd-pleasing cocktails stole the show: the JunePlummy and the King ‘N’ Ginger. When asked about their inspiration, George simply replied, “Jamaica. I’ve been coming here for 12 years now, so it’s all in there.” The JunePlummy was a tropical dreamboat, blending tequila with zesty lime, sweet OBH simple syrup, and a burst of June plum puree. Dehydrated lime wheels and June plum slices added the perfect finishing touch. On the other hand, the
King ‘N’ Ginger was a royal refreshment, combining vodka's smoothness with peach schnapps' sweetness, a kick of OBH ginger syrup, and a bubbly Prosecco topper. A fresh lemon twist completed this regal concoction.
Lisa Duval, George’s equally captivating partner, beamed with pride as she watched guests delight in her husband's creations. She shared, "The people are loving the drinks and George has a unique ability to transform a simple plant or fruit into an extraordinary cocktail."
